It has those temporal gimmicks as well, and a hangar bay. It's benefit is that you should be going Temporal as your primary as a science ship driver, and well, that's what this ship does, allowing you to train your boffs slightly easier. ![]() The temporal multimission science vessel isn't bad for a pure science ship as well. They are tankier then most science builds and many of them look good as well. This ship also comes with a hangar, allowing you to launch pets to augment your own damage.Īny of the research science ships are pretty good for a pure science build. Many intel skills also have a control effect, which triggers other traits as well. The nice thing about having Intel, is that a lot of Intel abilities will trigger certain trait effects that science skills will trigger as well, for example spore-infused anamolies. One of the best science ships out there is the Cardassian Intel Science Dreadnaught. Torps should always be used on pure sci ships, and can be used on hybrid ships in place of the beams, but generally if you're going to use torps, might as well just do a pure science. If you're going hybrid (ie using beam weapons on your ship) you need a LCDR tac BOff slot. If you are a romulan, double down on that science ship: rom STILL lack a good sci ship.įor science, are you looking at pure science build or a hybrid build? That chances your lay out a bit on the science, where if you're going pure science, you can get away with a 3/3 weapon lay out and only need an LT tactical boff slot. If something is behind you shooting, you can be behind it instantly, or if you blow up something and were too close to get away from the boom, now you can, and so many other hotshot tricks. If you haven't played one, you can jump 5km forward or backward or either side every few seconds. But its not for everyone, and single target dogfighting is fun but impractical (see above). I like the pilot escorts, the pilot moves are intense with a cannon ship. Sadly I am in an upgraded t5 version of it (speaking of saving money, its not much different), lacking a fleet unlock for it and not wanting to change fleets for a minor upgrade. ![]() IMHO its hands down the best of the best sci ships. Also, it can seat ALL science seats, which coupled with spore infused anomalies and any sort of cooldown reduction means nonstop big booms. Why? Its a raider, and oddly some (many?) science bombs can flank. ![]() if you own this ship you can claim/strip/release it at will, in order to farm its custom weapons (TOS-style blue phaser arrays they also come at blue quality).įor science I would use the fleet one, the Lukari Dranuur which you can get with fleet ship modules in the store but you can also get those in game (reputation or auction house) if you want to save that expense (even on sale, 0 is cheaper than whatever). ![]() (There are Andorian, Dewan, and Lethean versions of these three ships).Īlso to note: DON'T bother buying a ship just to get the starship trait "Withering Barrage", even if you are interested in same you can earn a free ship with that trait through the Klingon Recruitment event.Īlso, if you are a TOS fan, the Tier 1 Constitution Light Cruiser is available in two or three different bundles (but not by itself). (Also the Risian Weather Control ship from the 2020 Summer Event).įor tactical ships, this is going to sound odd, but are you interested in exotic damage science ship builds? Because if you are, you might want to pick up the science variant (or the entire trio, there is a bundle) of the Allied Pilot Escort for its starship trait, "Improved Gravity Well". They're both engineering / cruiser type ships, but also they have useful starship traits ("Emergency Weapon Cycle" and "History Will Remember").įor science ships, again it depends what you already have, but the Pathfinder and Terran Trailblazer are good platforms for an exotic damage/torpedo hybrid build. If you don't have them already, I would personally recommend the Arbiter Battlecuiser (or its Romulan or Klingon equivalents, the Mogai and Kurak) and the Narendra Support Cruiser (or its Klingon equivalent, the Vor'ral). If you have a level 65 Klingon-faction character, you can use opposite-faction ships (on all characters). To a point, it depends what you already have and what characters you have.
